Consumate performances from this highly experienced 1920's style jazz band performing classic hits from Cole Porter, George Gershwin, The Charleston and much more. Cool vocals and great musicianship make them one of the most sought after vintage jazz bands in the capital.
From the Charleston of the 1920s Gatsby era through the beautiful classic songs of the 1930s, to swing and jazz hits, Midnight in Mayfair is a hugely popular collective of superb musicians from one of LOndon's most respected jazz swing bands playing the greatest dance music and the best tunes of the Jazz Age.

The musicians played regularly for dancing at The Ritz and Savoy Hotels and have recorded six CDs. Acclaimed worldwide for their spirited recreations of the music of the British Dance Bands, Michael's full band line-up were especially chosen for BBC 4's highly successful Len Goodman's Dancing Feet and have just filmed a sequel: Len Goodman's Dance Band Days. The band was also chosen by Michael Parkinson for a gala Help For Heroes Ball - and following their concert at John Dankworth and Cleo Laine's Wavendon theatre: "this was probably the most entertaining evening I can remember...the orchestra is really superb".

Available from a trio to the full 11 piece orchestra plus an option to hire the incredible dancers the Gatsby Girl, Midnight in Mayfair play the great music of the Art Deco era, the 1920s to 1950s, with tremendous style, sophistication and a great rhythm to make any event go with a swing.

The songs of Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Irving Berlin (to name but a few) are loved by all generations and lend themselves to marvellous dance music - probably the reason why this jazz band is so popular for wedding receptions, anniversaries and other special occasions.

The most popular six-piece band features a male or female vocalist, with saxophone, trumpet, piano, double bass and drums and is ideal for dancing to. You can scale the band to suit your event and the full 11 piece line up is an all swinging ensemble that will create a unique atmosphere - perfect for any 1920's themed events requiring a sphisticated touch of class.

We'll be delighted to suggest various line ups for any event. We recommend a minimum of the 5 piece band for dancing to.

Excellent group of guys who were very patient and so very professional. They were everything we wanted and probably quite a lot more! Your agency were very quick to respond and contacted us exactly when you said you would. You were so easy to deal with there is not much more I can say, except Thank You.
D Ayres - wedding

The band were absolutely wonderful, they sounded and looked fantastic. Despite the pressures for me of the evening, their wonderful music enabled me to actually enjoy the whole thing; the dance floor was packed all of the time and they could not have been better. Many thanks therefore to you and to them.
Bembridge Yacht Club, Isle of Wight

The band added a real touch of class to our wedding reception. They arrived promptly and set up in no time at all. They were both flexible and professional. The male vocalist was amazing and the band leader guided them effortlessly through 3 sets of music varying from lively danceable swing to nice and relaxed easy listening. All the age groups at the wedding absolutely raved about the band and I am still getting calls from friends and family requesting details so they too can hire them. They truly were the icing on the (wedding reception) cake. Thank you all.
Martin and Karen Baker.

A big thank you to your band! The evening, thanks in no small measure to you and your friends, was magical. The band was ideal: not only did you have the right repertoire but, clearly, you have the experience to pace the music to the spirit of the evening, to build on the obvious enjoyment of the dancers. Everybody commented on the excellence of the evening! And special thanks should go to your singer – she had a very special presence and really outstanding voice! We wish her a very long and successful career.

I felt I was taking a risk in not hearing the band prior to our wedding, but the risk was well worth taking. Awesome musicians, great playlist - they even took the time to learn the song we wanted for our first dance. I would both recommend and book again. If I saw they were playing a local venue, I'd be there in a shot.
Anthony Davies

You pitched the mood just right - background music for canapes: and then really helping the party go with a swing, from the first dance onwards. The guests loved it and thy are getting regular and glowing mentions in the thank you letters. Weddings need that ingredient "x" to lift off - and Midnight in Mayfair really DID provide it; creating the best atmosphere. Thank you all for your professionalism and, most of all, for the music. In all senses, it made our wedding day go with a swing!
Christian Turner, London

Your outstanding, sympathetic and talented musicians added another dimension to our special day. I am deeply grateful!
Mrs Blunt, Marlborough

What a marvellous contribution you made to our wedding...your music really did make the party and so many of the guests still refer to your fabulous band.
Suzanne and Simon Friend, London

I just wanted to say how brilliant your crew were last night...they played beautifully, looked great, were very obliging with special requests and charming to all the guests.
Jill Olsen, London

This is the first opportunity I've had to put fingers to keyboard and wax lyrical about how fabulous Paul and the band were on my wedding day. They were incredible. I'm not sure where to start as every part of it was perfect. Paul's voice and ability to entertain is second to none and it was great to get to meet and chat to him. He also added an element of humour that was most welcome. The fact that they were happy to accommodate us playing a sax duet for our first dance shows that they have a level of professionalism that so many wedding bands / DJ’s just don't understand. The whole band were so in sync and the music was so perfect for the occasion that they left the bride and groom very happy. We were singing New York New York for the entire honeymoon! Thank you once again and please pass this message on to Paul and the rest of the band. I would love to have the opportunity to book them again some time but for the moment I'm all partied out!
All the very best, Lisa and Rik Jenkinson Swayne
